What is Google City Experts?

Google does not stop becoming more and more social. After the launch of its own network, Google Plus, it is looking for new ways to make our searches on the web the best suited to our tastes. Google Plus already shows the results based on the preferences of our friends, but with Google City Experts the Internet giant goes one step further in this regard.

To ensure that the users themselves become experts in their city through their own experiences, Google invites us to try it and become gurus of our cities. The reward for doing it: access to events and end up being a culinary and leisure reference in the Google community.

Not all cities have a cast of experts , but there are more and more metropolises with specialists in restaurants, cinemas, theaters, and so on. At the moment the Google City Experts program is available in Amsterdam, Atlanta, Austin, Birmingham (UK), Boston, Bristol (UK), Chicago, Edinburgh, The Hague, Houston, London, Los Angeles, Manchester (UK), New York , Osaka, Paris, Phoenix, Portland (OR), Raleigh-Durham, Roterdam, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Sydney, Tokyo, Toronto, Utrecht, Washington DC and Wijchen. In addition, it has recently started its activity in Madrid and Barcelona , cities full of nightlife where there are many places of all kinds.

The content of the public files of each location are public through Google Search, Google Maps or Google+ Local and you don’t even need a specific app to access them .

Regarding the number of Spanish cities with experts from Google have pointed out that there is still nothing certain but that it may be launched in other cities. Likewise, in the not too distant future, it will even be possible to consult groups of experts on specific topics (concert halls, bars, restaurants, etc.). And, why ask one or two friends when you can access a whole community of independent specialists?
