Pole dance or American bar is called a form of dance and gymnastics whose main element is a pole or bar around which the exercises are done –pole in English means 'stick' or 'pole'.
Usually it is related to the sensual swagger that strippers carry out in some clubs or with certain numbers that are performed in circus shows. However, it is a very ancient modality that derives from Mallakhamb , a form of gymnastics practiced by wrestlers in India as part of their training since the 12th century. Initially it was exclusively for men.
The current pole dance is a very complete exercise, with both an aerobic and anaerobic component, which requires flexibility, strength and endurance and allows all the muscles to be developed. The movements include ascents, twists and inversions, and require strengthening the core and abs.
The act of dancing and moving around a fixed bar creates a feeling of euphoria and dynamism . In return, it should be noted that friction with metal can leave marks on the body.
