In the United States, it has become fashionable to tattoo keywords on the skin that warn the emergency services of personal medical circumstances or that certain pathologies are suffered. They thus replace the bracelets and medals used up to now to warn of chronic diseases, allergies, etc. and provide other relevant medical information to the health workers who treat us in the event of an accident.
For example, more and more people are getting tattoos that they are diabetic, have hemophilia, or have an allergy to penicillin, aspirin or latex on the wrist. Other tattoos are more controversial. For example, pathologist Ed Friedlander has the phrase "No CPR" tattooed across the center of his chest, referring to a wish that he would not have basic CPR if his heart ever stops.
