Espargaró suffers a hard crash in the MotoGP FP4 at Silverstone

Aleix Espargaró has suffered a hard crash while competing in FP4 of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The accident occurred at turn 12, with 24 minutes remaining for the end of the session. At that point, the Catalan from Aprilia was rolling at about 190 km/h .

Espargaró had to be removed on a stretcher, although he was able to enter the circuit’s medical center on his own feet. He was not in it for long, and when he left, Dr. Ángel Charte explained to the DAZN microphone that Aleix suffers from a “calcaneal contusion on his right foot” that is in the process of “evaluation”.

Finally, the candidate for the title has received the fit from the doctors that authorizes him to take the start in the MotoGP qualifying session, scheduled for 3:10 p.m., peninsular time.

Aprilia has confirmed that Aleix will try to go out on track to contest Q2 . After a time of rest in his motorhome, the pilot has returned to the box to prepare the official training.

Aleix Espargaró is at a crucial moment of the season. For the first time in his sporting career, the Aprilia Racing Team rider aspires to win the title of MotoGP world champion. He returns from the summer break occupying second place in the general classification, just 20 points behind the leader Fabio Quartararo.

In this fight, Fabio drags a long lap from Assen; a penalty with which Aleix hopes to close the gap.
