Honda confirmed in a statement that Marc Márquez will be next week at the crucial MotoGP tests that take place at the Misano Circuit.
“Márquez will travel to Misano,” says the note from Repsol Honda. Satisfied with the state of his right arm, Marc will travel to Misano with the intention of riding the Honda RC213V during the post-race test.
The Honda rider got on a motorcycle last Wednesday for the first time since the operation he underwent in early June in the United States. Márquez underwent surgery, for the fourth time, on his injured right arm in the Jerez race in July 2020. After that first contact at the handlebars of a CBR 600 in the Motorland karting, the Spanish rider returned to the Aragonese track to a new essay this Friday.

“After two positive tests aboard a Honda CBR600RR at the MotorLand Aragón circuit on August 31 and September 2, Márquez has acquired valuable knowledge about the state of his arm. With the information obtained and satisfied with the evolution of his right humerus, Márquez will now travel to the San Marino GP with the intention of further testing his fitness aboard his Honda RC213V during the post-race MotoGP test.The eight-time world champion will arrive in Misano on Friday afternoon late to re-observe and work alongside his team and HRC before heading out on the circuit on Tuesday.”
Márquez continues to recover from his injury positively, however the lack of exercise during these three months after the operation has reduced his arm strength and this Friday he got back on a motorcycle to confirm that he is fit to travel to Misano.
The runner is expected to arrive in Misano this Friday at the last minute to be able to undergo a medical check-up on Saturday with the World Championship doctors, a test that will be supervised by Angel Charte, the championship’s top medical officer, the person who must declare the rider fit to be able to ride a MotoGP again.
At Honda they trust that the rider can go out on the track with the new Honda prototype for 2023 and give the necessary instructions to set the course for the development of a motorcycle that in recent years has become undrivable for all the brand’s riders.
