The Frenchman entered the race as one of the drivers with the best turning rate, but the lack of punch from his M1 again left him without a podium finish. The braking of the Devil has coincided in time with the revitalization of Pecco Bagnaia, who has been able to recover 61 points from him in the last four races, until he was only 30 points behind him when another 150 still have to be distributed.
In two weeks, the World Championship will disembark in Aragón, where Yamaha will presumably have a hard time again, to the misfortune of Fabio Quartararo, who begins to see the ears of the wolf.
This Sunday he was bottled up among the crowd raised by Ducati, who raised a wall in front of him, impossible to overcome.
“I ended up very frustrated because I gave it my all, I gave more than 100%, but that fifth place is all I could get. You have to investigate why. My pace was similar to that of the tests, but overtaking or driving like the others is impossible for me. The worst thing is that, there was no problem and I finished fifth”, Quartararo summed up.
“In Aragon we will suffer, but we haven’t been to Japan, Australia and Thailand for a long time, so let’s see if we can get a pleasant surprise there”, added the Nice rider, who has not finished finding the formula that will return the podium places.
“I’m not worried, but I’m not calm either. I think I had a good race from a personal point of view, but I finished five seconds behind the winner. I think I’m more consistent than Pecco, but much slower. I’m going to the limit and that’s not enough”, deepened the Yamaha, aware that one of the keys to everything, perhaps the most important, is fought on Saturdays: “Everything depends on the position of the grid and if we can overtake or not”.
