Nakagami suffers lacerated injuries after his crash at the Aragon GP

Takaaki Nakagami had to say goodbye to the Aragon Grand Prix at the first opportunity. The Japanese LCR Honda rider collided with Marc Márquez (who was riding on his damaged bike after colliding with Fabio Quartararo) and went down between turns seven and eight.

‘Taka’ suffered a hitch with Marc’s bike, and ended up sliding down the middle of the track for many meters, and the rest of the squad had to dodge it, many of them running away.

The Japanese driver was taken to the circuit’s medical center, where he was diagnosed with several lacerated injuries to the ring and little fingers of his right hand. Due to these injuries, the doctors decided to declare him ‘unfit’ .

At the moment recovery times are unknown, but everything seems to indicate that Nakagami will not be able to start at the Japanese Grand Prix, scheduled for next weekend. If so, he would be forced to take a leave of absence from his ‘home’ career; a race that has not been played on Japanese soil since the start of the pandemic.

Fortunately for him, it will not be his last chance to race at Motegi, as Lucio Cecchinelo announced his renewal shortly before Alcañiz.

Marc Márquez declared after the race that his motorcycle had been damaged after the contact he had had with the leader of the general classification in turn three. A piece of the M1 fairing blocked the #93’s holeshot , which saw his bike bank left on the exit of turn seven.

Fabio Quartararo, who was also involved in the accidents of the chaotic start, also had to visit the medical center due to painful burns on his chest. The Frenchman’s Yamaha hit him while he was rolling on the ground, although everything was left in the abrasions.
