What is the difference between a donkey, a donkey and a mule?

The name of donkey can be considered as a synonym for donkey. It is also a way commonly used in many parts of the Spanish geography to refer to this animal. This perissodactyl mammal of the equidae family, smaller in size and with longer ears than those of the horse, can exceed twenty-five years of age.

There are two types: the domestic and the wild. The former is probably descended from the wild African ass and is mostly bred in Africa, Spain, Italy and France. It is used for shooting, riding and packing, since its physical performance is superior to that of the horse. The mule or mule, for its part, is a hybrid quadruped and, therefore, sterile, although it possesses great strength, resistance and sobriety. There are also two types: the one that comes from the cross between a male donkey and a mare, properly called a mule or mule, and another resulting from the cross between a horse and a female donkey , which is called hinny . The latter type, however, is difficult to occur, because childbirth involves many difficulties. The hinnyard differs from the mule by its more bushy tail and by having a disproportionately large body in relation to the legs.
