Scientists from the Department of Nutritional Science at the University of Reading (United Kingdom) have studied how the stomach responds after the excesses of Christmas meals. And they have concluded that there are a number of measures that can help our digestive system feel better:
· Eat more fruits and vegetables . If we engineer too much meat, the bacteria in the digestive system break down the proteins to produce amines, phenols and other harmful substances that inflame the stomach. The fiber in vegetables and fruits, on the other hand, produces beneficial components that counteract excess protein. In addition, eating fiber increases the energy available in the muscles and activates appetite suppressants.
· Consume probiotics or prebiotics , which contain bacteria that help with digestion.
· Exercise after overeating. Among other things, it improves the immune response and prevents colds, stomach problems, etc.
· Drink as much water as alcohol , as it prevents dehydration and reduces hangovers.
