A study carried out by researchers at the University of Waterloo (Canada) has concluded that pretending in bed is not a reasonable option, since both men and women are able to perceive the level of sexual satisfaction of their partner .
The work, published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior magazine, explains that sexual communication and the ability to recognize our partner's emotions are factors that help us accurately predict whether our boyfriend or girlfriend has enjoyed sex.
For the study, they had 84 couples who were, in turn, part of a larger study on sexual satisfaction. The couples were separated and individually, each one made a questionnaire about their level of satisfaction within the relationship, their commitment, the level of sexual communication, sexual satisfaction, as well as their ability to recognize the emotions of the other.
According to the conclusions of the study, having good communication on sexual matters helped the participants to understand the level of sexual satisfaction of their partner, especially if they were also able to “read” the emotions of the other. All of this results in what researchers call a "sexual script" that shapes the patterns of your sexual activity over time .
