According to a recent study by Cornell University (USA) based on monitoring the attitude and mood of 2.4 million Twitter users from 84 countries, most of us wake up in a good mood, but the smile fades from our lips as the day progresses . This effect, the authors say, is independent of cultural context.
Until now the authors were aware that there are cyclical emotions such as enthusiasm, alertness, fear or anger . But the affective rhythms had been studied in small and fairly homogeneous groups, and without the possibility of observing the time changes in the long term.
The combined use of Twitter together with software that monitors language has allowed us to go a step further in this type of research, and has revealed that the most positive attitudes are detected first thing in the morning and around midnight .
Strategies to improve mood
On the other hand, science has also shown that there are several useful strategies to improve a good morning mood . For example, several recent studies suggest that having sex in the morning makes people feel happier , in addition to strengthening the immune system, avoiding colds and improving the quality of hair, skin and nails.
