Llamas ( Lama glama ) are domesticated mammalian animals that belong to the Camelidae family. These curious animals stand out for their elongated neck as well as their thick beige fur. In addition, they are native to South America (especially abundant in Peru, Bolivia and Chile) although it is possible to find them in shelters and zoos in all parts of the world.
Regarding their diet, llamas are herbivorous and eat lichens, bushes, tree shoots and any type of grass that grows around them. In addition, they can drink between two and three liters of water at one time. Likewise, these animals live for around 20 years (in the wild) and have an approximate height of 1.8 meters.
Due to their sympathy, it is no wonder they have become popular on social media. On Instagram, the hashtag #llama has more than a million publications. Similarly, the hashtag #llamallama displays more than 60,000 images. And is not for less! Since they are some of the most photographic and charming animals.
