Do you want to be a film director? The Snyder School is now available

With the excuse of launching Army of the Dead, Netflix wanted to take advantage of Zack Snyder’s fan pull to create the Snyder School. It is a series of videos published on YouTube in which the filmmaker shows part of his knowledge and in which he explains (being a delight for the most curious) all the processes that film audiovisual products follow since their inception, with the conception from the idea to the final assembly. It will have four weekly episodes that Netflix will launch on its YouTube channel, called Netflix Film Club. A good start to begin discovering what the work of a film director is like first-hand. However, this “online school” will not end with the director of Justice League, as the streaming channel plans to create several mini-programs similar to the Snyder School, which will delve into all the art processes that surround the world of celluloid. They have not yet confirmed which other film directors will participate in this series, but it would be hard to believe that with the millionaire contract that the company has signed with Rian Johnson, he is not going to teach at least a “little” of his art and knowledge. the first video that is already available, Snyder speaks of course, of Army of the dead. The little over 13 minute snippet explains the thought process behind the opening sequence of the apocalyptic opening credits. The director discusses the narrative foreshadowing of the placement of the text titles, while using images from his films for reference. A fascinating explanation for all those fans who want to see in detail how Snyder thinks and analyzes each of the narrative decisions he makes.The video fragments show what happens behind the scenes of the shoot: the chromas, storyboards, the director operating the camera, etc. Zack Snyder can explain much of the aspects of this film, since apart from directing he has also taken care of creating the original story and photographic direction. The next three videos will focus on cinematography, choreography, editing, sound , color and construction of the apocalyptic setting.
