If you like the feeling of surf and sun on your bare skin, visit the resorts and beaches along the French Atlantic coast. The naturist resorts where you go totally naked start near the mouth of the Gironde River, pass the Arcachon Bay and then go down towards Biarritz.
All the more knotty resorts here are very well organized and designed to make you feel comfortable. The staff speak multiple languages. There are good restrooms and laundry services right next to the beach, plus kids’ clubs, organized sports, entertainment, restaurants, and bars.
When it comes to the beach, you may feel a bit self-conscious when you first strip naked, but don’t worry. CHM-Montalivet website (CHM stands for Centro Hélio-Marin ) was the world’s first naturist resort. It was inaugurated in 1950 and was the place where the International Naturist Federation (FNI / INF) was founded.
It is a beautiful site, located in the Gironde on the Atlantic Ocean, with more than a mile of naturist beach on offer. Arranged like a village, the complex offers 573 camping spaces (for tents, cars and caravans) in well-shaded locations under the trees, a swimming pool, sauna, sports fields and a store. There is also free WiFi. And since this is France, the dining options are quite good, from pizzerias and bars to a tapas place and a gastronomic restaurant next to the dunes. It is a very family oriented place with many guests returning year after year.

Website You will find the Euronat naturist resort on the Atlantic coast, located between the Gironde estuary and the Arcachon Bay. Located slightly inland in a pine forest area, there is direct access to the wonderful coastal beaches.
Like Montalivet, it is beautifully designed with large pitches for tents or caravans. There are a staggeringly large number of shops and restaurants, 28 to be exact, so you don’t need to leave the area. There is also a naturist thalassotherapy center, officially approved by the Mer et Sante Federation (Federation of Sea and Health).

Website La Jenny en Le Porge is a little further south, just above Bassin d’Arcachon and almost directly west of Bordeaux.
With over 741 acres of pine forest, there is plenty of space between the wooden chalets on offer. Accommodations range from the intimate one-bedroom apartment (a perfect place for a romantic vacation for a couple) to family-size units, and each has a kitchen with a fridge and two burners, plus a bathroom. Some have terraces, complete with tables and chairs.
You can play a round of naturist golf, swim in a large heated pool, or join the various clubs and sports and activities for children and teens. Then there are adult activities like yoga, massages, and facials.

Website Go even further south and reach Arnaoutchot. It is located on 111 acres of pine forest around the resort town, with a traditional restaurant overlooking the pool, a seafood restaurant, a pizzeria, a grocery store, playgrounds and sports areas. Smaller than the other Atlantic nude resorts, it’s still quite a busy place with lots of activities and a good party atmosphere.
You can try your luck in the watercolors, nude of course, enjoy the water park or learn to surf at the school next to the beach.
