The great flea market in Memphis

The Big One, also known as the Memphis Flea Market, is arguably the largest and most popular exchange gathering in the Mid-South. For years the market was held at the Mid-South Fairgrounds in central Memphis. But as the fair moved off the property and many of the old structures were demolished, the Memphis flea market also migrated from the heart of the city.

Today, the Mid-South Fairgrounds is home to an expanded queue route on Tiger Lane, adjacent to the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. Don’t worry as flea market fans can easily access the Agricenter International property near Shelby Farms Park, near Walnut Grove Road and Germantown Parkway.

Location

The Big One takes place inside the Expo Center at Agricenter International, located at 7777 Walnut Grove Road in Memphis. There is a no dog policy inside the Expo Center.

Dates and Hours

The Big One is held the third weekend of each month and is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, both Saturdays and Sundays. Occasionally, The Big One will be open for an additional weekend of shopping, such as the Christmas Bazaar in December.

Vendors

Each month, more than 500 vendors create booths at The Big One. These vendors offer new and used merchandise, including trading cards, collectibles, antiques, jewelry, electronics, clothing, furniture, garden supplies, food, and more.

The market has interior booths that are packed with options in home décor such as rugs, candles, paintings, hardware, a large selection of floral and home improvement ideas. There are also tons of women’s clothing, children’s clothing, handbags, a large selection of jewelry vendors, makeup and fragrance vendors, and a wide variety of collectibles.

There are also a variety of food options.

Regional growth

As the Memphis flea market has grown in popularity over the years, it has also expanded to Arkansas with various locations.

  • At the Benton Events Center, the market is held monthly in the southwest town of Little Rock.
  • At the Hot Springs Convention Center, The Big One travels to one of the most visited destinations in Arkansas.
  • At Stuttgart’s Grand Prairie Center, the Big One has a home in the prairie city of eastern Arkansas.
  • At the Conway Expo Center and Fairgrounds, Big One finds a home in the community north of Little Rock along Interstate 40.
