The rumors of the last days have been confirmed. This redesign of the official PlayStation Store , thought about the imminent launch of PS5, will be accompanied by its negative part: that its access to PS3, PS Vita and PSP games will soon disappear, both from the web and from the application mobile.
What does this mean? That we will no longer be able to buy games for those consoles from there, nor can we download them comfortably via the web / app, but it will be necessary to do it from each console, as was done in the past.
There are already people who are receiving the notice from Sony by mail , where it is clarified that this will take immediate effect from October 21 to 26 in relation to the official page, while the same will be done on the 28th for the application on devices mobile phones, as can be seen in the screenshot provided by Siliconera.
And what will happen to the games we have bought? Absolutely nothing. There will be no problem to redownload them, however, it will have to be from accessing the store from the console in question, or consulting the library of products purchased, also from consoles.
A derived problem, in any case, we have it in the disappearance of the wish list of games for PS3, PS Vita or PSP that we had added from the PlayStation Store web / app, so we advise you to copy them into a list so as not to lose them from your memory. In my case, without going any further, I was seven.
And what will happen to PlayStation Store on PS4? It will not be affected and we will continue with access via web / app, but unified with PlayStation 5 games, of course.
Update : here the message in Spanish.
