Misano.- Morbidelli reappears this weekend in Misano after missing five Grands Prix as a result of the operation he underwent on his left knee last June. After the traumatic divorce between Maverick Viñales and Yamaha, the Roman promoted from the Sepang Racing Team (SRT) to the official team of the Iwata manufacturer, as a neighbor of Fabio Quartararo.
Despite the achievements made with Ramon Forcada , his until now chief mechanic, Yamaha considered it opportune to award Silvano Galbusera in this new adventure, at least until the World Championship ends in Valencia. The Italian coach was with Rossi between 2014 and 2019, before being replaced by David Muñoz and moving to the Japanese manufacturer’s test team.
From then on, it will be Primmer , a former worker at Öhlins – Yamaha’s suspension supplier in MotoGP – who will assume the highest-ranking role in the #21 workshop. The Australian has been in his country for months due to the mobility restrictions imposed by the Scott Morrison government, and is waiting to be able to leave once the borders are reopened.
This move will see Forcada remain alongside Andrea Dovizioso at Sepang Racing Team (SRT), which in 2022 will be renamed RNF.
