Accès Montréal card for Montreal residents

If you are a Montreal resident or Montreal property owner and want to save money on a variety of cultural and recreational activities (think discounts on museum exhibits, movie tickets, visits to the Botanical Garden, spa treatments, and day camps for children), then sign up to receive CAM, your Montreal access card better known as C arte Accès Montreal as soon as possible.

It costs $ 8 (as of 2018) and lasts for a full year. And the savings can be significant. Here are some examples of the benefits currently and / or previously offered:

  • Save 40% or more on admission to the Montreal Botanical Garden and get free access to the outdoor gardens year-round.
  • One free ticket with the purchase of a regular price ticket at Cinéma du Parc
  • One free ticket with the purchase of a regular price ticket at Cinéma Beaubien
  • Save 25% on float baths and 15% on massages at Ovarium Spa
  • Two-for-one entrance to Parc Jean-Drapeau beach from Monday to Friday
  • Free ice skating the first Saturday of the month at Atrium le 1000

How to get a card

Go to one of CAM’s 70 outlets, be it your local Accès Montréal office, a participating municipal library or municipal office and bring:

  • Money to pay the card fee
  • A recent photo of you (must be passport size: from a minimum of 4 cm x 4 cm (1.5 inches x 1.5 inches) to a maximum of 5 cm x 6 cm (2 inches x 2.5 inches), please note that various CAM outlets offer a photography service on site)
  • Proof of residency (e.g. Driver’s license, municipal tax bill, Hydro-Québec utility bill, Gaz Metropolitain, Bell, etc., no leases)
  • Identification card (for example, Medicare card, social security card, etc.)

If you are not a resident but you live on the island of Montreal

Conditions and costs are generally the same. The only downside is that fewer companies and organizations extend their discounts to residents of these municipalities.

If you work in Montreal but don’t live there

Unfortunately, people who work in Montreal but do not live in Montreal cannot benefit from a Carte Accès Montréal, including employees of the City of Montreal who reside outside the island. You must be a resident or owner to qualify.

Renew card

Once you have reviewed the documents to obtain your own CAM, your Accès Montréal office will send you a renewal form by mail one month before the expiration date.

Just fill out the form and submit the payment without visiting the office. But don’t wait too long to complete the renewal process. If you notice that the year is ending and you still haven’t received anything in the mail, contact your Accès Montréal office and request a renewal form. If the card expires before taking any action, you will need to visit the offices in person again and repeat the initial registration process.
