After the accident with Takaaki Nakagami in the first corner at the last Catalunya Grand Prix, Rins wanted to do everything possible to be able to compete in Germany. However, this situation required the support and ‘yes’ of the medical team.
Rehabilitation, rest and rest were the perfect cocktail to study the return of Rins to the German track. Almost two weeks after the incident, Álex Rins has received the green light from his doctors and will try to race this weekend at the German Grand Prix.
“I have been working very hard since last week trying to rehabilitate my wrist as much as possible. Following the advice of the medical experts, I have carried out a recovery program and I have tried to gain mobility and reduce pain”, explained the #42.
Suzuki’s report confirms that, after a visit to Dr. Xavier Mir , Rins is ‘fit’ to compete. However, despite having put in a lot of work to get to 100% in Germany, the fracture has not completely disappeared.
Although the doctors confirm that this process is progressing favorably for the Catalan rider, Alex Rins will need the official authorization of the MotoGP medical director to race this Sunday.
“He came to see me on Wednesday morning before leaving for Germany to assess the condition of his wrist,” the doctor introduced in the official statement. “We have done tests and it seems that the fracture is fine, but it is not yet healed. Álex wants to try to get on the bike, but he cannot need painkillers and physiotherapy these days,” he evaluated in the official statement.
“I hope to arrive in good condition in Germany, I will have the final medical check-up with the MotoGP doctors at the circuit and they will tell me if I am fit to race or not… And if I am, I will!” suzuki.
