All grid penalties for the Italian F1 GP

The 2022 F1 Italian Grand Prix has been disrupted for a number of drivers by grid penalties . A total of eight drivers have been penalized after free practice sessions as a result of engine changes and gearbox replacement between Friday and Saturday morning.

At the end of FP1, the stewards specified the sanctions imposed on the affected drivers, and this Saturday it was learned that Ocon joined the list when Alpine decided to change the ICE of his car.

At the moment, there are three drivers forced to go to the back of the grid no matter what: Carlos Sainz, Yuki Tsunoda and Lewis Hamilton, who will therefore be ordered by the times they achieve in qualifying. For all the others, the penalty positions they carry will be taken into account.

Mick Schumacher’s expected penalty for changing the internal combustion engine and replacing the gearbox has also been confirmed.

Yuki Tsunoda also received a three-place penalty for failing to brake under yellow flags in the second free practice session.

On Saturday morning, Alpine announced that it had fitted a new internal combustion engine to Esteban Ocon’s A522 , which will mean a five-place grid penalty for the Frenchman.
