Formula 1 is the highest category of motorsport, so every detail counts when it comes to achieving performance. No team leaves anything to chance, just like the official suppliers, who give their best to make the Great Circus reach excellence.
For this reason, Pirelli , the only tire manufacturer currently in Formula 1, announced its testing schedule to prepare for the 2023 season , something crucial due to the change in regulations that has included a modification in the size of the wheels, which this year it has gone from 13 to 18 inches.
Taking advantage of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix and the proximity to its logistics center in Europe, the Italian company went out on the track with Alpine, in addition to Alfa Romeo and AlphaTauri to continue studying the behavior of next year’s tires.
Through social networks, the Enstone team boasted of a day of work in Imola with a photograph of Esteban Ocon uploaded to the A522 of the current season with the Pirelli test compounds.
“Here we go with the 2023 Pirelli tire test at the Autodromo di Imola with Esteban Ocon!” the French team wrote on its Twitter account. “Oh look, some sunshine and a blue sky!”
“And for my next trick…” Alpine said in a photograph of the Gallic driver while putting on the jumpsuit on his Instagram stories.
“Hello everyone, Esteban here,” Ocon said in a post on the same social network. “We are still in Imola for the Pirelli tire tests, so I hope to drive more on this circuit with the current car, learning, and it will be interesting. Here I show you a bit of my helmet that I have competed with this weekend, and on this other side there’s another one in case it’s sunny, all set, come on!”
The French team will only be on the Italian track on Tuesday, and it will be Ferrari who will replace those from Enstone on Wednesday, since their second day of testing with Pirelli will be on July 13 at the Red Bull Ring, just after the Austrian Grand Prix.
For its part, AlphaTauri and Alfa Romeo will shoot the two days in a row, while the Maranello team will compensate for its absence on Tuesday with a test on June 24 at Mugello.
