Actors can do without these awards: Amy Adams and Bruce Willis have been nominated for the “Golden Raspberries”.
Los Angeles – Action star Bruce Willis (66) and Amy Adams (47, “American Hustle”), who has been nominated for an Oscar six times, could be awarded Hollywood’s ridiculous prizes at the end of March.
The distributors of the “Golden Raspberries” or “Razzies” announced the nominations for the not-too-serious prizes on Monday. Traditionally, the contenders are named a day before the Oscar nominations are announced.
Adams is nominated twice for Worst Actress in the psychological thriller The Woman in the Window and for her supporting role in the film musical Dear Evan Hansen. The distributors came up with a special section for Willis, saying he had eight bad roles in 2021, including in films like American Siege, Deadlock and Cosmic Sin. Contenders for Worst Lead Actor include Scott Eastwood (Dangerous), LeBron James (Space Jam: A New Legacy) and Mark Wahlberg (Infinite).
The “Worst Movie” also competes with “Space Jam”, “Infinite” and “The Woman in the Window” also the thriller “Karen” and the Broadway flop “Diana the Musical”. The production about the life of Princess Diana – with Jeanna de Waal as Diana and Roe Hartrampf as Prince Charles – is on the streaming service Netflix. With a total of nine nominations, the musical is the top candidate at the 42nd Spot Awards.
The “Razzies” (short for Raspberry) were created in 1980 by filmmaker John Wilson as a counterpart to the glamorous Academy Awards. According to the group, more than 1,100 members in the United States and four dozen other countries vote. The “winners” are traditionally announced the day before the Oscar gala, which is scheduled to take place on March 27 this year. This Tuesday (February 8), the Hollywood Film Academy will announce the Oscar nominations. dpa
