This is the fourth pole position this season for the Turinese and the second in a row after the one he took last week at the Sachsenring.
In his second attempt, the rider of the official team of the Borgo Panigale brand reduced by three tenths the best lap made up to that moment in the Cathedral, in possession of Maverick Viñales since 2021. This pole is also the first for a pilot of Ducati from which Andrea Dovizioso reached in 2016.
Bagnaia will be accompanied on the front row of the grid by Fabio Quartararo and Jorge Martín, second and third, respectively.
Marco Bezzecchi (fourth), who is clearly making progress, will command the second row after staying two tenths off the time of #63, and will be escorted by Aleix Espargaró (fifth) and Jack Miller (sixth).
Johann Zarco will start seventh, while Miguel Oliveira (eighth) and Alex Rins (ninth) will close the third row.
Brad Binder (tenth) closed a top ten in which no Honda could enter, diminished as is the detachment of the golden wing factory after Pol Espargaró’s withdrawal was confirmed.
Maverick Viñales will start the eleventh and Takaaki Nakagami will do the 12th. Joan Mir, for his part, could not qualify in the second round (Q2) and will start 14th
