Career at full throttle: Jason Momoa is known to many as “Aquaman”. But now the actor is venturing off the water and into the streets, speeding around with Vin Diesel for Fast & Furious 9.
Los Angeles – “Aquaman” star Jason Momoa (42) joins the cast for the next “Fast & Furious” movie.
“Welcome Jason Momoa. #F10,” the action series creators welcomed the actor to Twitter for the 10th installment on Friday. The action sequel, Fast & Furious 9, about fast cars and illegal street racing, starring Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese, Ludacris and John Cena, hit theaters last summer.
Diesel starred in the original film back in 2001. The former star of the series, Paul Walker, died in a car accident in 2013. After five “Fast & Furious” episodes, US director Justin Lin (50) is also said to be directing the last two planned films (10 and 11) in the action series. The next part is scheduled to appear in May 2023.
Many Hollywood stars have starred in parts of the series over the years, including Dwayne Johnson, Kurt Russell, Helen Mirren, Gal Gadot and Charlize Theron. Momoa is best known as the “Aquaman” hero in various films. He has also appeared in TV series such as Baywatch, Stargate Atlantis and Game of Thrones. dpa
