A man is questioned by the police about an abuse allegation. Then there is a row outside the door: relatives want to see the suspect. There are tangible arguments.
Miesbach – The arrest of a 22-year-old man in Miesbach in Upper Bavaria led to a confrontation with stone throwing and baton beating between his extended family and the police.
The man was arrested on Monday on suspicion of sexual abuse of a child, police and prosecutors announced on Tuesday. This child also belongs to the extended family.
The man who was questioned about the allegations stayed with the police the night after his arrest. On Tuesday morning, 20 to 25 of his family members showed up in front of the office and wanted to go in, said a police spokesman. A verbal solution failed.
The door had been ripped off its hinges. The relatives of the 22-year-old had thrown shoes and stones at police officers. They used batons and pepper spray, as it was called. This resulted in minor injuries on the part of the family. A police officer was also slightly injured by a punch.
According to the prosecutor, the 22-year-old is accused of having committed sexual acts in front of the child in kindergarten. From the point of view of the public prosecutor’s office, there is an urgent suspicion that an arrest warrant has been applied for, said a spokeswoman for the authority. The man was not brought before a judge until Tuesday afternoon. He remained in police custody for the time being. dpa
