Following the course of the European round, the riders of the premier class are heading to one of the most emblematic and beloved circuits by the Spanish fans of the 2022 calendar. This weekend, the Catalan circuit will host an appointment that will mark a before and one later in the qualifying sheet of the Motorcycle World Championship.
Taking into account the parameters of Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Austin, Argentina, Indonesia and Qatar, these are some of the possible protagonists for the Catalan Grand Prix this weekend.
In the first place, we remember that, unfortunately, the Spanish appointment will not receive one of its most representative figures. We are talking about Marc Márquez, who is currently waiting to undergo surgery again. The Cervera rider will stay away from the asphalt until further confirmation, leaving his box partner, Pol Espargaró, as spearhead of the Repsol Honda Team.
Likewise, his brother Aleix Espargaró arrives at his home Grand Prix, where he will not contemplate any other result than victory, especially after an incontestable locker in the last appointments. Let’s remember, the rider from Granollers is second overall, behind Fabio Quartararo. In fact, the Frenchman is another of the contenders for the weekend, due to his great record on the Catalan track.
The boy from the Côte d’Azur already knows the taste of pole position, and of records, as he obtained the best lap time and his best pole position in 2021. He also shares a record box with his compatriot, Johann Zarco, whom he would not have either to lose sight of this weekend.
With a straight of more than a kilometer, exactly 1,047 meters, both the Ducati of Pecco Bagnaia and that of Jack Miller may have a perfect opportunity to shine before the Spanish grandstands, especially after the last podium achieved by the Australian rider in 2021 , where he got a third place behind Johann Zarco.
