Le Mans.- The 24-year-old Italian is the only one who this year has managed to repeat victories after consuming the first seven rounds of the course, and not only that, but this weekend, at the legendary Buggatti Circuit, where he the great champions doctoran, managed to prevail for the third time.
The Italian did it in a direct fight with the two official riders of the brand, Jack Miller, who could only see him from afar, and Pecco Bagnaia, who, trying to beat him, ended up on the ground.
A ground that Bastianini had tested up to three times over the weekend, despite the fact that he is a rider who rarely falls.
“This weekend has been a bit strange, I have crashed three or four times (3), I also broke the engine, but I started the race with the confidence that I could get a good result,” he said after the victory.
“I saw that Jack and Pecco were going very fast but that my pace was just as good as theirs, and I started to study where on the circuit I could overtake them. First I passed Jack and then it was more difficult for me to pass Pecco, he was rushing a lot braking, but in the first part of the circuit I was stronger and I was able to pass him at the chicane (turns 3-4) and win the race”, he said.
Last year. Ducati has already won with Miller at Le Mans and this year they have taken pole with Pecco and have achieved victory with Enea.
“Ducati is very competitive here and we’ll see if we can continue along the same lines,” said a rider who climbs on the podium only to win. “When we have problems it’s hard for me to come back, but I hope to be able to solve that”.
The key to the race was on lap 21, when Enea passed Bagnaia, who returned the overtaking, and after a few corners he lost control and went wide. Then he fell.
“I didn’t have any strategy for the race, I didn’t know what my pace was really going to be, the important thing for me was to learn things from Pecco, because there were two points where he was faster than me, but when I saw him and changed the line making her like him, I was able to follow him.”
They insisted on the strategy.
“Perhaps it is a matter of luck, the truth is that we have done this race without a strategy, unlike the other two in which we did have them. If you look at my races you can see that in the final part I go faster, The truth is that I don’t know why things are given to me like this”.

And now comes Mugello, the home race for Ducati and where things are going to be decided.
“It’s important for everyone, but especially for the Italian drivers, I would like to get the podium in that race, but it’s early to talk about it, we have to enjoy the weekend there and avoid making mistakes.”
But that’s where Ducati said it was going to decide Pecco Bagnaia’s future partner in the factory team.
“I’m happy to stay with Ducati, I’m riding this bike very well and I think it’s my best option, but at the moment I don’t know what the future holds for me or where I’ll be. Ducati has offered me a great technical package and I think that we can win as an independent team, we are going to try it”, settled the one from Forli.
