Bastianini wants to focus "on consistency" after the summer break

Enea Bastianini amazed at the beginning of the season achieving three victories as unexpected as they were unappealable: at the opening of the course in Qatar , at the Grand Prix of the Americas , fourth stop on the calendar, and at Le Mans , where he added his third victory in seven events, positioning himself as one of the candidates to fight for the world crown.

However, since his home Grand Prix, in Italy, the Gresini-Ducati rider fell into a series of poor results, with two crashes ( Mugello and Barcelona ), a 10th place at Sachsenring and an 11th at Assen, which have away from the title race and have compromised the brilliant start to the season.

Bastianini is aware that he made mistakes during the first part of the year, beyond the last four races, and that he needs to be more solid to achieve his goals.

“Finally we started again. The break has been very good for us to reset and focus on the mistakes made in the first part of the season,” admits the Gresini rider in the preview of the British Grand Prix , which is held this weekend at Silverstone.

The Italian believes that the Northamptonshire layout suits his style and offers him a good opportunity to straighten out his performance.

“I really like Silverstone and I want to get a good result to get back to our level,” says Enea who, on paper, will have a new aerodynamic package for this race, the one tested in the Barcelona test, the latest Ducati version.

Fifth in the World Cup, 67 points behind the leader, Fabio Quartararo, Bastinini has not achieved a podium apart from his three wins and considers that he must win solidly and regularly to try to stay in the fight to finish among the top three, an objective that only nine points separate him right now.

“We have been too fluctuating so far, and in this second part we want to be more consistent,” is marked as a task.

In addition to the objectives at the end of the course, the rider from Rimini maintains an open duel with Jorge Martín to become, next season, an official Ducati rider, along with Pecco Bagnaia, a decision that the Bologna cas hopes to be able to make on the 31 August, after the Silverstone and Austria races, extra pressure for the two young pearls from the Borgo Panigale quarry.
