People who pause while working to listen to music or watch comic videos on the Internet are not wasting their time, but by improving their humor they can boost their creativity , according to a study published in the journal Psychological Science .
To reach this conclusion, Ruby Nadler and her colleagues at the University of Western Ontario (USA) modified the mood of several students with the help of music and videos that made them feel happy or sad. Then they checked how they coped by learning to recognize certain patterns based on their state. The results showed that the subjects who felt happy discovered and learned how to solve the problem earlier than their peers. " If you have a project where you need to think outside of the box, being in a good mood will help, " says Nadler.
