At over 300 acres, Turkey Lake Park is the largest park in Orlando. This family-oriented park, originally called Turkey Lake Park when it was created in the 1970s, includes something for everyone. You’ll find nature trails for hiking and biking, and areas for swimming, fishing, camping, and canoeing. The children of the city will enjoy the Ecology Center and the Pet Farm, with its pigs, chickens, horses, cows, goats and rabbits. The wooden play area is a massive maze of tunnels, slides, and swings, guaranteed to entertain for hours.

So, bring a lunch, find any of the 125 picnic tables, and plan to spend the day here.

  • A swimming pool is open for those hot summer days.
  • Large pavilions for large picnic groups are available for rent.
  • Small solar shelters for family reunions are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • A well stocked lake for fishing.
  • The children’s farm is on site as a holdover from the property’s farm era.
  • An air-conditioned ecology center.
  • Camping area at reasonable prices. Another area has bunks and grills for those nature-based group retreats or accompanied youth group outings.

Looking for a place to play Disc Golf?

At Bill Frederick Park on Turkey Lake, you will find two 18-hole golf courses.
“The Original” is an advanced level course, which has been in the park for approximately 29 years and may be the oldest standing disc golf course in Florida.
“T2-The Turkeynator” was installed in 2005 by a 3-time world disc golf champion. The shorter red jerseys provide a lighter challenge, while the longer blue jerseys give the player a world-class challenge.
Of the more than 50 disc golf facilities in Florida, Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake is considered one of the best.

In addition to the above amenities, Turkey Lake Park has numerous activities:

  • hiking
  • baseball / softball
  • volleyball
  • riding a bicycle
  • a great playground for the kids

From Thursday to Sunday, you can rent fishing boats. The cost is $ 15 for 4 hours. Call 407-299-1248 to make a reservation.
