Celebrate Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in Little Rock

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child opens this weekend and local book sellers are celebrating. Harry Potter launch parties are always a lot of fun for kids, and I hope the latter will attract a lot of adults who were children in 2007 (the date of the last Harry Potter release, I was at the party at Chenal Barnes and Noble on July 20, 2007). Many of the original Harry Potter fans were teenagers at the time. All original Potter fans will be grown-ups now, with new fans joining the ranks of Hogwarts every year.

If you’ve been near Orlando and have visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios, you know that the Potter fever has not subsided. Muggles love it.

The book launch we are celebrating is actually a script for a play. The play has two parts and, when produced, lasts five hours. The play takes place 19 years after the books. Harry is 37 years old and struggles with his life as a civil servant and father. It has been playing and selling in London in trailers since June 7. The public was urged to “keep the secrets” of the work so they wouldn’t ruin the book’s launch for Americans, but many online forums have been buzzing with what is going on. our favorite characters when they send their children to Hogwarts for the first time.

The comments are pretty good. Emma Watson, who played Hermione in the movies, said:

Some things about the play were, I think, possibly even more beautiful than the movies. After watching it, I felt more connected to Hermione and the stories since Deathly Hallows came out, which was a great gift.

It’s a bit disappointing that we have to read it in book form for now. British critics say the words were clearly written for the stage and that the transitions and stage art are magical. Some fans criticized a bit that some of the characters are superficial and that some of the five hours are monotonous and complicated, but the play is still in progress so it will surely go through some revisions.

James Hibberd, de Entertainment Weekly, dice :

Author JK Rowling, in collaboration with London theater veterans Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, has presented a production as spectacular as it is ambitious, full of special effects and twists that had a surprise audience, Cursed Child is a story that does not play is Safe with Potter canon and it will change the way fans view certain favorite characters forever. The imagination of Potter fans everywhere is magical too. Maybe the show in our heads is better than the show on stage, and you can be sure it will be on Broadway or at least somewhere in America at some point (maybe at the Robinson or the Representative). Maybe it won’t be two parts and five hours by the time you get to a traveling show. Potter fans say there is enough content for at least two books over the course of the play.

Rowling has said that the form of the book, which is the game script, is enjoying a worldwide release so fans everywhere can join in the celebration. Fans in Little Rock can join in on what may be the Harry Potter launch party at the final midnight.

Barnes and Noble stores in Little Rock and North Little Rock celebrate with a launch party at midnight. Starting at 8 pm on Saturday July 30, they will have a special “Muggle Wall” to share their memories of Harry, gifts and activities. You don’t have to dress nicely, but every midnight release I’ve visited for the Harry Potter books, there are plenty of Dumblers and people in Hogwarts robes. The Little Rock store is at 11500 Financial Ctr Pkwy, and the North Little Rock store is at 4000 McCain Blvd.

The Chenal Store says the Little Rock Zoo will bring in some owls.

It’s no coincidence that July 31 is Harry’s birthday. Celebrate with him at the Barnes and Noble venue.
