Formerly a professional swimmer, today’s sovereign: Charlène von Monaco has made a big change in her life that has not left her untouched.
Monaco – Albert of Monaco (63) was prepared for his future role as head of state from an early age, but his wife Charlène (44) fared very differently. As reported by 24royal.de*, the native South African led a life far away from the crown in her homeland – until she met her future husband and everything changed.
Charlene of Monaco: Life in the palace has demanded a lot from her
Charlène and Albert* met for the first time in 2000 at a swimming competition in Monaco, but they didn’t officially make love until eleven years later. In July 2011, the two said yes in bright sunshine and Charlene Wittstock became Princess Charlène*. Her new role as Monegasque mother catapulted Charlène into the limelight* and brought some changes with her. Arriving at the palace was not easy for Charlène at the time, Royal expert Coryne Hall is convinced of that.
In an interview with the British Express, Hall made it clear what challenges Princess Charlène, but also her predecessor Princess Gracia Patricia* (52, † 1982), had to face in their early days at court: “I think for outsiders who get into such When families get married, there is an incredible amount of pressure. […] You have to get used to a completely different way of life. And when they come from another country, like Princess Charlene and Princess Grace, they have to make even bigger adjustments.”
Charlene of Monaco: Exhausting months are behind her
The 44-year-old still seems to be struggling with her royal duties and tasks. Charlène, who is in poor health and is being treated in a clinic in Europe*, has not had an official appointment for around a year, she is said to have been unhappy for a long time. Again and again, new sad details about Princess Charlène * come to the public, and the rumors of an alleged marriage do not want to fade away. *24royal.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
