Münster – After the Corona outbreak in Münster at a 2G party with over 80 infected people, experts nevertheless underline the importance of vaccinations.
Under the extreme conditions of a club with hundreds of visitors, crowds and close conversations with loud music, infections cannot be completely ruled out even for those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered, said Bernd Salzberger, chairman of the German Society for Infectious Diseases, the German Press Agency. In these cases, however, the vaccination obviously protects: the people affected in Münster have no severe courses.
“Does that speak against 2G? No, of course for that. Without 2G, many more party goers would have become seriously ill, ”commented the SPD health expert Karl Lauterbach recently.
Around 380 women and men took part in the party on September 3 in Münster. Most of them are in their early or mid-twenties. Only people vaccinated against corona or convalescents twice (2G) had access. After the party, the city had reported numerous new infections. According to the latest status, there were 85 and one employee of the club (status 17.9.) – more than every fifth party participant. According to the current status, the city rules out false information from guests about their vaccination status as an explanation. dpa
