Cowarobot, the suitcase that follows you like a puppy

On your travels, you will no longer have to worry about keeping track of your luggage, since it will be he who does not lose sight of you at any time. The Cowarobot R1 is a fully autonomous smart carry-on that follows its owner like a pet. In fact, it is even capable of overcoming obstacles .

According to its creators, a company based in China and the United States, represents a fusion of high technology with the concept of luggage, and its objective is to allow people to travel with greater comfort, since it frees the hands of its users to do other things. things , such as calling on the phone, while carrying a coffee or a book.

This futuristic suitcase can easily roll on hardwood floors, on carpets, and dares even on uneven surfaces. It moves at 7.2 kilometers per hour and can also cope with slopes of up to fifteen degrees. The R1’s battery has a range of about 20 kilometers and takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes to fully recharge.

If at any time the traveler loses sight of his suitcase or wants him to get closer to it because it is too far away and he thinks that someone could steal it, with a simple double tap on the bracelet that he will be wearing on his wrist, the suitcase will go to his call by planning a route and moving between obstacles to find his way back to his owner.

If you stray too far, it warns you

Also, if the R1 exceeds the safety distance from the owner, the proximity alarm with which it is equipped would be activated immediately and the person would receive a notification through their bracelet, which would vibrate to attract their attention. And if the suitcase is lost, it can be located in the app associated with the Cowarobot (available for iPhone and Android) thanks to the built-in GPS .

Its dimensions are 55x38x20 cm and it weighs about 4.7 kilograms. But what space do the robotic components it incorporates occupy? Only 4%, according to its creators, so it offers a capacity equivalent to 96% of a normal carry-on . In addition, the R1 will allow you to recharge your electronic devices, such as your smartphone, tablet, etc., in the USB ports integrated in it.

The Cowarobot has two modes: autonomous and manual – which is activated simply by touching the handle of the case. It also has a smart lock that will automatically lock to secure your valuables and that syncs with the owner’s bracelet.

This project has been made known through a campaign on the Indiegogo crowdfunding platform that, in the absence of fifteen days for its completion, has already exceeded 250% of the collection of $ 100,000 that they needed to start it. Orders will begin shipping in October 2016, and the suitcase is available from $ 449 (about 402 euros) and in four colors: black, silver, blue and pink.
