Hans Zimmer candidate for best film music
The science fiction epic “Dune” and the western drama “The Power of the Dog” each won ten nominations. “Dune” composer Hans Zimmer is among the trophy candidates for the best film music. Actors like Benedict Cumberbatch (“The Power of the Dog”), Denzel Washington (“Macbeth”), Lady Gaga (“House of Gucci”) and Kristen Stewart (“Spencer”) are in the running for the critical awards.
The 27th Critics Choice Awards are due to take place on January 9th in the ballroom of a luxury hotel in Los Angeles. The gala will be broadcast on television. On the same day, the Golden Globes will be awarded for the 79th time, but this time without the usual star-studded live show. The small Globe association with around a hundred foreign journalists has come under pressure due to a lack of diversity, the TV broadcast was canceled by NBC. With almost 500 members, the CCA is the largest film and television critics association in the USA and Canada. dpa
