Dani Pedrosa will put a completely new 2023 KTM on track this Tuesday

In addition to Honda, which this Tuesday will test the first prototype of the 2023 RC213V, a motorcycle that Marc Márquez’s team of mechanics has already assembled this afternoon in box number 35 of the Marco Simoncelli Circuit in Misano, KTM will also put it on track , for the first time, a completely new bike with a view to the next season.

While the new Honda will be in the hands of Márquez, who reappears after three months off due to his fourth operation on his arm, Mattighofen’s new RC16 will have its baptism of fire this Tuesday at the hands of the brand’s test rider, also Spanish Dani Pedrosa.

Winner of 54 races, 31 of them in MotoGP, Pedrosa has been a test and development rider for KTM since 2019, with whom he has renewed his contract to continue in that position until the end of 2023, and he will be in charge of testing this first prototype of the Austrian house during the day on Tuesday in Misano, where two official test days are held.

If Pedrosa’s feelings with the new prototype are positive, on Wednesday the South African Brad Binder could have a first contact with the new bike, now more focused on trying to get the most out of the current RC 16, a bike from the that much was expected this year but that has not been enough for Binder, winner of a race in both 2020 and 2021, to go beyond the second place achieved in the Qatar Grand Prix, the first of the year.

On a technical level, the changes made to the bike cover all areas, although the manufacturer has not given details to understand if we are talking about an evolution or a revolution.
