Novak Djokovic culminated his work with a title at Roland Garros that makes him the most complete tennis player in history. The Serbian tennis player beat Stefanos Tsitsipas (6-7, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4) in a fast-paced final, prolonged in more than three hours of play and in which Nole beat his rival after two lost sets and a spectacular comeback, worthy of a true number one and the first tennis player capable of winning twice in each of the Grand Slams on the calendar.
Nole resisted as much as he could after two negative sets in which Stefanos , with more physical and mental preparation for the game, took the lead. The Greek prevailed in terms of physique and left the best tennis player on the planet, the world’s number one, on the ropes, who resigned but not given up drew strength from weakness to turn the game around.
Tsitsipas , with a majestic performance in the first two sets, took the lead by two sets to zero, making good the myth of the physical, in which a priori he would surpass Djokovic due to the fatigue of the Serbian after the match against Nadal.
However, Djokovic’s perseverance led him not to give up after 2-0 and to diminish, point by point, the confidence of a beardless rival in the finals and who ended up succumbing to the category of one of the best tennis players in history.
Djokovic came back two sets and reached the fifth full and ready to triumph again at Roland Garros. His previous triumph was forged after a victory against Rafa and Friday’s majestic victory answered on Sunday at the finals with a new title that again competes for the historic throne of tennis. In 2021 it was not Nadal but it was Novak Djokovic who finished at the top of Roland Garros.
