Man has always wanted to get to the Moon, to space and, above all, to Mars. It seems that every day that passes the human being is closer to achieving it. For this, NASA is already preparing its new research experiment where it is looking for a series of candidates to live on Mars.
But the offer has a trick. The truth is that the candidates will not fly to the Red Planet in the coming months, or in the next few years. The chosen candidates will live for a year on a Mars built on Earth , a simulation that NASA will create to study the possibilities of man on the neighboring planet.
Mars is calling! 📲 Applications are open to participate in a rare and unique opportunity: the first one-year analog mission in a habitat to simulate life on a distant world, beginning Fall 2022.

A simulated planet
In a statement, on August 6, NASA explained what this research experiment was about, which will begin in autumn 2022. “ Mars is calling! NASA is looking for candidates to participate as a crew member during the first analog mission of a year in a habitat to simulate life in a distant world “they comment on their social networks and in a statement released a few days ago.
Candidates can register now from their website and until September 17 where each of the candidates will be evaluated and, in the following months, the final candidates will be profiled.
This space mission is known as Crew Health and Performance exploration Analog (CHAPEA) in which three simulations are included over a year.
As announced by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration of the United States, this simulation will be done at the Johnson Space Center, it will be in an environment similar to what could be Mars and will begin in the fall of 2022.
The candidates
Candidates who want to be eligible for this adventure will have to fill out a form, be US citizens or permanent residents, “healthy and motivated”, non-smokers, between 30 and 55 years old and fluent in English.
In addition, it will be requested to have a master’s degree in one of the fields of science, technology, mathematics or engineering, in an accredited institution and with more than two years of professional experience.
The selected candidates will live in a module created by 3D engineering of about 570 square meters and will simulate challenges that could be found on Mars such as limited resources, equipment failures, communications, walks or obtaining food.
