Dodot donates 300,000 mini diapers to premature babies admitted to the NICUs and pays tribute to these fighters in a tender video

In neonatal ICUs, extreme care must be taken with premature babies. Among them, providing them with a peaceful and uninterrupted sleep to help them in their physical and emotional development. However, position changes, medical interventions, and diaper changes break sleep cycles.

To help them in this difficult period, Dodot has announced that he will donate 300,000 special diapers for premature babies admitted to the NICUs in Spain and pays tribute to these little fighters in a tender video.

A diaper designed for the little ones

The needs of a premature baby admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) are very special. Keep in mind that your skin is extremely delicate and even a simple diaper change can injure you. For this reason, normal diapers may not be the most suitable, since they have a wide band that separates the legs of the baby.

The Dodot Sensitive Premature Size -3 diaper is three times smaller than a normal newborn diaper and is suitable for babies weighing less than 500 grams. It is specifically designed without fragrances or elastic, improving the rest of the hips and legs of the baby and softer. They are especially helpful for newborns with complications , such as extremely low birth weight, severe skin problems, jaundice, gastrointestinal complications, and other related conditions.

In addition, it has a total absorbency both in the front and rear and allows the change in any position.

An important help if we take into account that one in every 13 births occurs before week 37 of gestation and that each year between 1,000 and 1,100 premature babies are born in Spain before week 28, according to the Spanish Society of Neonatology (SeNeo) .

Great fighters

“Caring for premature babies, who are so fragile and small, involves an added dose of strength and tenderness. At APREM we know how valuable the pampering time these little ones receive is for their physical and emotional development. That is why we encourage and help families with premature children to be actively involved in caring for the baby. “

These are the words of Concepción Gómez Esteban, president of the Association of Parents of Premature Children (APREM), who explains the importance of diaper changes for these little ones.

“Doing it with a diaper that adapts to her little body makes things much easier. I remember when I changed the diaper to my children, who were extremely premature and the diaper reached almost to the chin. Fortunately, those times have already passed ! ”.

To support this national NGO that supports parents of premature babies, Dodot has created a video that conveys the amazing fighting spirit these babies show every day and will donate € 1 for each video shared on social media. The images are so cute that you won’t be able to resist doing it. At least I couldn’t.

Touch is a very powerful connection with your baby: this is how you can...

As mothers - especially when we are first-timers - and we want to do what is best for the baby, we simply have to go with our instincts. I say this as someone who started motherhood having read a lot about it, but to whom time has taught precisely that.

When your family doesn't like the name you've chosen for your baby (and over...

One of the most transcendental decisions that are made in the incipient role of father and mother, when the baby is still in the womb, is deciding the name of your son or daughter. Trying to imagine what it will be like, discarding all those that you don't like or that remind you of someone you don't like (because let's not deny it, it's something we all do), and reaching consensus is not an easy job.
