The National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Users of Financial Services (Condusef) presented the site ‘Revisa Compara Decide’, which has the objective of disseminating comparative information on products and services offered by different financial institutions.
“The comparison of products is a beneficial behavior, since it allows the user population to choose the option that best suits their needs and offers them the best conditions. In addition, it encourages financial institutions to offer better products when faced with a more informed clientele,” the agency said in a statement.
According to the National Survey of Financial Inclusion 2021, the percentage of people who compare using information from specialists or government institutions is lower in all cases: insurance, 36%; credit, 34%, and account, 23%.
“This suggests that there is an important space to spread the advantages of using the information channels available in institutions such as the Bank of Mexico, the National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Users of Financial Services or the National Commission of Insurance and Bonds”, adds the statement.
What information can be consulted on the new Condusef site?
‘ ‘ consists of 5 sections:
1. Comparators and simulators: you will find comparative charts and simulators for mortgage credit, savings, personal credit and payroll.
2. Who is who: knows the behavior of financial institutions regarding the different products and services they offer.
3. Commission checker: enabled to compare the commissions charged by different financial services and products, so that you know and decide which one to choose.
4. Clear accounts in claims: shows how financial institutions behave with respect to their clients’ claims, for example, the number of claims received, in which states of the Mexican Republic more claims were registered, in what type of product and what institutions resolve more in favor of the user.
5. Condusef supervises financial institutions: presents information on the supervision carried out by the entity to said institutions and the qualifications obtained.
