The DS 3 Crossback E-Tense has arrived on the market with the intention of paving the way for a new generation of electric vehicles, which is not too surprising, especially considering that the French manufacturer has already shown its will on multiple occasions to use new forms of energy. In this sense, Yves Bonnefont, general director of DS Automobiles, has indicated that “the advantages of electrification are numerous”. “We want our customers to maintain their complete freedom of movement and take full advantage of our advanced technologies, so we have created a range of electrified cars led from today by the DS 3 Crossback E-Tense,” added Bonnefont.
In this way, the DS 3 Crossback E-Tense is the first 100% electric premium B-SUV to be marketed since 2019. The model, which has already revolutionized the idea that we had until now of an electric vehicle, is based on a platform designed both to be efficient with internal combustion engines and with an electric motor and battery set. This new configuration marks a before and after in the industry, accustomed to electric vehicles built on unsuitable platforms, where batteries penalize habitability or the trunk, and to vehicles designed to be exclusively electric with basic and uncomfortable finishes.

The interior of the DS 3 Crossback E-Tense , which equips high-density seats, noble materials and an unequaled level of comfort, stands out for the acoustic insulation it offers, without the vibrations and sounds typical of an internal combustion engine. In addition, the model adopts various technical solutions, such as increased thickness of the door foils, thicker windows and an acoustic windshield. With this level of insulation, the DS 3 Crossback E-Tense offers the customer unrivaled soundproofing in its segment.
The DS 3 Crossback E-Tense, has three different driving modes , in order to adapt to the style of each driver. We found the ECO mode, to maximize autonomy; the normal; and the SPORT, with an instant torque boost. In addition, it has two forms of energy recovery, inherited from Formula E, and managed by the driver: NORMAL, to simulate the behavior of a heat engine; or BRAKE, which applies a maximum deceleration.
More autonomy
Its 320-kilometer range , according to the WLTP cycle, is maximized by the experience gained in Formula E in energy recovery and by the use of a heat pump, an efficient heating solution and by the maintenance of the battery at an optimal temperature for operation, even in cold weather.
DS Automobiles offers a range of services associated with E-Tense electrified vehicles, such as, for example, a remote control integrated into the MyDS application, with which you can retrieve all the main information from the DS 3 Crossback such as the charge level of the battery, the autonomy or the charging time that is missing. The thermal pre-conditioning can also be easily activated, which will allow the user to enter a cabin already at the ideal temperature, and even manage the start of charging at home, taking advantage of the reduced rates at certain times.
