El Chavo del 8 through videogames: from El Chavo Kart to the crazy Street Chavo

Chavo del 8’s characters are timeless. The work of Roberto Gómez Bolaños, affectionately called Chespirito , knows no borders: the antics of Chavo himself, Quico, La Chilindrina and the rest of the neighborhood children continue to steal smiles from young and old from around the world almost four decades later.

Which, on the other hand, makes inviting us to be part of that unique group of friends and neighbors, even through video games, something really special.

Like all great fictional characters, El Chavo del 8 has had his own feature films, several comic series and all kinds of merchandising. He even returned to television after the new millennium through a new animated production, which led to something very interesting for his fans: the children and adults of the neighborhood began to star in their own video games. Better late than never!

It is not that Chespirito’s characters have not appeared on consoles and PCs. Without going any further, EA Sports allowed us to wear the Red Chapulín shirt in FIFA. But we must also admit that Chavo’s legacy in video games, to date, has not been particularly extensive.

A discreet walk through the middle, of course, but always focused on all audiences and conveniently adorned with all those little jokes that we repeated a thousand times in front of the TV.

Precisely for this reason, at VidaExtra we want to remember that boy with freckles and his friends from a different and not so well-known perspective: his video games . Gathering in one place the almost ten official projects that he starred in on consoles, mobiles and even web browsers, all of them duly ordered by date.

Any surprises? As Chespirito himself would say through his most endearing character, ” The last thing you lose is your belly, Mr. Esperanza .” Next, all the video games of El Chavo del 8 and his friends.
