ExOfficio BugsAway clothing is designed for adventure travelers

One of the biggest challenges adventure travelers face when traveling is the shape of little insects. These pesky critters aren’t just annoying though, as they often carry dangerous diseases like malaria, yellow fever, and dengue. Some of those viruses can be controlled by medication and inoculations, but in the case of something like the Zika virus, there is no treatment at this time.

That’s where ExOfficio’s BugsAway clothing line can come in handy, serving as a line of defense not only against mosquitoes, but also against ticks, flies, ants, chiggers, and mosquitoes. Those are all common insects we encounter on our travels, and having a non-chemical way of keeping them at bay is certainly a good alternative to traditional insect replanting.

I recently had the opportunity to see some of the latest products for the ExOfficio line, and as usual came out quite impressed. Here are some ideas on the new additions to their catalog that you will want to have in your closet.

BugsAway Sandfly Pant ($ 80)
Incredibly lightweight and versatile, the new Sandfly Pant is an excellent product for adventure travelers, which also has the ability to repel insects. These pants come equipped with pockets in the traditional locations at the front and back, as well as a zippered security pocket inside the front left pocket. There is also a device pocket drop located on the front leg which is great for keeping your smartphone close at hand. The roll-up snaps also allow you to alter the length of the pants on warm days, although they are so breathable that I haven’t had to do it yet.

These pants are also comfortable and highly packable, making them a welcome addition on any warm-weather trip.

BugsAway Impervio Crew ($ 60)
If you need a comfortable travel shirt that also has some welcome technical capabilities, Impervio Crew might be what you’re looking for. It is lightweight and extremely comfortable, while also having the ability to wick away moisture and also dry quickly. And since it also includes ExOffico’s BugsAway coating, it will also help keep you safe from buzzing, biting, or generally annoying insects. I like this shirt so much that I not only wear it when I travel, but also when I am at home.

It has a casual look that makes it just as comfortable at a local restaurant as it is at the Outback.

BugsAway Sandfly Jacket ($ 80)
Using very lightweight fabrics, the Sandfly Jacket is able to offer great coverage without causing the user to overheat. Composed of mesh and woven panels, the jacket includes a drawstring hood, adjustable hem, elastic sleeves that help keep insects away from the skin. And when you don’t need to wear it, the entire garment is packed into the left front security pocket for easy packing and transport.

Sol Cool Cryogen Shirt ($ 90)
Not part of the BugsAway lineup, the Sol Cool Cryogen Shirt provides protection not from bugs, but from the sun. Rated with a UPF 50 protection level, this shirt has natural cooling capabilities that make it an excellent choice for hot weather destinations. It has two back vents, two front pockets and a zippered security pocket located on the chest. Made from jade infused fabrics, you will be impressed by how well this shirt works. It is available in three colors, as well as plaids, and even short sleeves.

This is just a small sample of the excellent travel clothing ExOfficio processes for both men and women. For a complete idea of their product line, visit ExOfficio.com.
