Ezpeleta: "The Suzuki problem has no solution"

While awaiting official confirmation from Suzuki Japan, the CEO of Dorna Sports, Carmelo Ezpeleta , assured this Wednesday that the departure of the Hamamatsu factory from the MotoGP World Championship “has no solution”.

Ezpeleta attended the presentation of the 2022 Dani Rivas Cup in Madrid, a grassroots motorcycling competition that is celebrating its seventh season in memory of the sadly deceased pilot.

During the presentation, the CEO of Dorna admitted that the decision made by Suzuki and advanced by Motorsport.com , cannot be reversed.

“We are talking with Suzuki, surely a statement will come out tomorrow, we are talking to see how they do it. It can happen, but they cannot go unilaterally and we have to talk about how they are going to do it”, Ezpeleta responded to Nico Abad’s questions on his Twitch channel.

The journalist asked Ezpeleta if the issue had a solution, or if the only open negotiation was the way to do it.

“No, I don’t think there is a solution, nor is it in our interest to force anyone to continue if they don’t want to, we have a lot of demand for people to fill their positions and what we have to do now is work calmly.”

Following the information uncovered by Motorsport.com on Monday of last week, Suzuki planned to issue an official statement the following day, but Dorna stopped it and published a harsh note warning the Japanese house that it could not go slamming the door, and that they had to negotiate some bases for the rupture.

Since then, a response from Japan has been expected which, according to Ezpeleta himself, could arrive this Thursday, already with the entire paddock of the MotoGP World Championship at Le Mans, where the French Grand Prix is being held this weekend.
