Already at the Autodromo Hermanos RodrÃguez, the Spaniard got behind the wheel of his A522 to try to get back into the zone that awards a prize at the end of Sunday, and he did not go astray in the only representative session on Friday. In FP1 , the two-time world champion was sixth, less than two tenths behind his compatriot Carlos Sainz, who was the fastest driver in his Ferrari, followed by his teammate Charles Leclerc.
After leaving these good feelings, the Spaniard returned to his car for the second practice in the Mexican afternoon, but as it was a test of the Pirelli tires for next season, his 11th place meant nothing.
