Pierre Gasly (Pitlane)
(AlphaTauri)

  • Nicholas Latifi drags five penalty places for his contact with Guanyu Zhou in the last Singapore GP
  • Pierre Gasly, from the pitlane after AlphaTauri skipped parc fermé conditions to make changes to his car

As you can see, after the reprimand Verstappen received for his incident with Norris, there are no penalties that send any of the favorites to the back positions, so the grid for the Japanese race does not have any big surprises. Verstappen will start from pole ready to be crowned 2022 champion already this Sunday at Suzuka.

The one who did have a sanction from the previous race was Nicholas Latifi, who already had five places on the grid. Still, he was last in qualifying on Saturday, so no other driver is favored by that punishment.
