The starting grid of the 2022 F1 United States Grand Prix will have many modifications due to the fact that several drivers will receive penalties for changing engine elements . One of them will be Charles Leclerc, who will mount a new internal combustion engine and a brand new turbo, which means that Ferrari will start, for the moment, ten positions behind the result he originally achieved in qualifying.
The Monegasque and the Italian team decided to use the race at the Circuit of the Americas to comply with the penalty that will send him to the middle part of the peloton, although that guarantees them to have fresh components for the four pending appointments of the season.
In the midst of the third free practice session dispute, the FIA confirmed the bad news for the Ferrari team, since they will have at their disposal the fifth internal combustion engine and tube in Leclerc’s F1-75, although it will not be the the only one to receive sanctions for Sunday. In the same document published by the international federation, Fernando Alonso learned that he should add five more places to his position in the classification by mounting another internal combustion engine, although the Asturian decided not to modify anything else about his Alpine.
