F1 Miami GP 2022 schedules, how to watch it and preview

After an exciting Emilia Romagna Grand Prix where Max Verstappen won the second Grand Chelem of his career, Formula 1 travels to Miami for the first time to contest a race, and will do so during the weekend of May 6-8 .

The event will be held at the Miami International Autodrome, a track designed especially for the occasion around the spectacular Hard Rock Stadium . The fastest single-seaters on the planet will roll around the 5,410 km of track to complete a total of 57 laps, and that’s when we meet the first winner in history in this American city.

This will be the fifth round of the course at the Grand Circus, led by Charles Leclerc thanks to the 86 points he has in the general table, although his advantage was cut after the spin he made in Imola and the victory of Max Verstappen, who is already second, followed by Sergio Pérez, George Russell and Carlos Sainz. As for the constructors’ championship, Ferrari leads the standings with 124 units, but Red Bull follows the Italians closely, with 113 points, while Mercedes is the third force, far behind them.

The Miami Grand Prix makes its debut in the Formula 1 World Championship, and with it the usual weekend schedule returns, with the drivers’ press conference and the first two free practice sessions on Friday, before giving way to Saturday with the third test session and qualifying, and obviously on Sunday with the race.
