Fabio Quartararo: "Putting ourselves to the limit is something that always helps"

After caressing the gates of the podium at Le Mans, Fabio Quartararo had to settle for fourth place behind Aleix Espargaró. Now, the French rider arrives at Mugello motivated and ready to give his best in a weekend where Yamaha could surprise the Tuscan fans.

“It’s difficult to predict, because it’s not that it’s a bad circuit for us, but if we start from a bad position it will be negative,” Fabio Quartararo introduced at the official press conference, assuring that the Italian event “is a bit 50 /fifty”.

“If we have a good start, a good qualifying and a good first lap, it can change our race, but we will have to see how we do, because the next two circuits will be tough”

The M1 of the guy from the Côte d’Azur registered a speed of 12km/h slower in the race, but, a priori, this data does not pose a problem for the tuning fork garage.

“Sector two and three is one of our strengths for our bike, I feel very good and pushing ourselves to the limit is something that always helps,” said Fabio Quartararo.

During the weekend, Yamaha will face the news of its closest rival: Aprilia. The Noale factory has opted for a new engine with which Aleix Espargaró could threaten the lead. However, if Aprilia’s new engine will see its regular rider gain tenths, Fabio Quartararo hopes to gain seconds with the new fairing on his M1.

“I want to give the maximum and push like I did from Qatar, taking myself to the extreme. I feel confident, Mugello is one of my favorites and we will see if we are able to achieve it,” said the Frenchman.
