Father’s Day 5K Walk or run on Phalen Lake in St. Paul on Father’s Day. Heart disease is the leading cause of premature death for men, but exercising can significantly lower your risk. So, encourage parents and grandparents to hang out with you and spend a fun morning walking or running as a family on Lake Phalen, out of charity and for Dad’s healthy heart. In addition to the 5K run, there is also a fun 1/4 mile run for kids.
Farmington Dew Days The annual community celebration in the southern suburbs runs June 11-15. The biggest day of the festival is Saturday Father’s Day weekend, with a carnival, rib, family entertainment, parades, pizza eating contest, live music, and a beer garden.
The Stone Arch Festival is back for 2013, a welcome return to the Minneapolis summer calendar. The Stone Arch Festival will take place June 14-16, and there will be plenty of live music, art and great food throughout the three days, and a Father’s Day car show. On St. Anthony Main in downtown Minneapolis.
Watch a Minnesota Twins game. The Twins will play at home against the Tigers on June 14, 15 and 16. As a Father’s Day promo, the top 10,000 male baseball fans will receive a Twin BBQ spatula, plus boys can get autographs from the Twins players before the game.
Father’s Day Brunch Cruise on the Mississippi. The Padelford Riverboat Company is organizing a Father’s Day Brunch Cruise and Father’s Day Sunset Cruise on the Mississippi River on their old riverboat. Cruises depart from Harriet Island in St. Paul.
Father’s Day Brunch Cruise on St. Croix. The Father’s Day Brunch Cruise departs from Hudson, WI for a champagne brunch on a boat on the beautiful St. Croix River. In the evening, there is a Father’s Day comedy cruise, which also departs from Hudson, WI.
Father’s day trains. Does dad like trains? The Osceola and St. Croix Valley Railroad is operating a Father’s Day brunch train and a Father’s Day dinner train, departing from across the state line in Osceola, WI.
The Nature Valley Grand Prix and Bike Festival begin June 6-16. On Father’s Day, take Dad to see the end of the world-class racers at the Stillwater Criterium, thirty high-speed laps of downtown Stillwater. There are more races, plus art, music, and stunt jockeys demonstrations at various venues throughout the festival.
Father’s Day lunch and outdoor activities at Baker Park Reserve. Enjoy brats and burgers, then try outdoor activities like archery and rock climbing with Dad. $ 12 per adult, $ 8 per child, children 2 and under are free, and pre-registration is required on the Rivers Three Park District website.
Pa and Ma Day on landing. Play old-fashioned sports, dance, ride a horse-drawn cart, play a game of baseball at The Landing, a historic shopping site in Shakopee. A dad (or mom) gets in for free with the admission of a paid child.
